France is a country west of Europe and is certified named the French Republic. It slices its confines with Spain, Monaco, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Andorra, Italy, Germany, and Belgium. France also has turf in North America, South America, Antarctica, the Caribbean, southern Indian Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, and many other uncultivated islands across the world.
Mainland or Metropolitan France constitutes of coastal plains in the north and west, Pyrenees in the southwest, Massif Central in the south central, and the Alps mountain expanse in the southeast. France also has wide-ranging river beds all over the region which spills out into the Mediterranean Sea. To the north and northwest of France, the climate is temperate with coastal effects while to the southeast, the climate is Mediterranean with rain occurring generally during the winter time but none at all during the months of July and August. To the west, the climate is oceanic with copious rainfall with cool summers but mild winter while the mountain regions on the other hand have Alpine climate with its frigid temperature and snow covering the whole area for up to six months. Metropolitan France in general has a combination of coastal weather with its hot but wet seasons, and continental climate with its burning but stormy winter, and colder winter but with less rain.
