Guard Matters in the Astir French Cities

Though France is among the distinguished countries in the big continent of Europe, nobody says that it is free from theft and pickpockets. As a matter of fact, the latter is very familiar in this country especially in areas where zealous tourists dwell, like hotels, airports, beach resorts, train stations, subways, museums, monuments, and subways. Thieves, on the other hand, usually target cars without local plates and distracted travelers, their most familiar victims. The crime estimate in France involving violence (read: blood) has increased, but generally, this kind of crime is sporadic in the French region.

However, travelers and local French citizens must always be aware of their surroundings to ensure their security and have a peaceful and enjoyable stay in this fantastic country. One way to arm themselves from these crimes is to always, always keep their eyes on their stuff such as bags, purses, luggage, and most especially, wallets. It's also a good thing if they keep a photocopy of each travel document that they have, but make certain to keep photocopied documents separately from the pure ones.

But don't get distracted by these crimes and instead, treat them as alarms to be more careful and aware of the places that you stay in and the people whom you meet.

Snails as Extraordinary Food in France

Indeed a sight to behold, France, they say, is the most romantic capital in the world for lovers or even for those in desperate search for love. Not only are French guys gorgeous and French ladies fashionable and beautiful, love is in the air with breathtaking scenery and exciting nightlife in Paris. But what if your date takes you to a 5-star restaurant for a delightful supper and asks for "Les Escargots?" Will you be tempted to try this tasty extraordinary serving of snails, or would you dare imagine their mucus trails while feeding on decayed plants?

Famed for their glib tongues and passion for artistry, France is never too ashamed to admit its penchant for snails as a extraordinary serving in its cuisine. Actually, it never considers snails as exotic food, when in fact, France consumes 40, 000 tons of snails every year, making snails renowned dish. But if you think preparing "Les Escargots" is fairly easy or quite simple, then you'll have to realize that it takes two weeks, when they are already starving to death, for snails to be ready for a lavish treat. The seasoned covering has to taste just as good as the snails with butter, garlic, parsely, and other spices, while snails that are rich in calcium, Vitamin C, and magnesium are also famed fillings in pastries.

The Creator of Outstanding Shoes

Charles Jourdan was among erstwhile Philippine First lady Imelda Marco's choice shoe brands. In fact, many of her collection were Jourdan stilettos; and her extreme shoe collection gained Charles Jourdan unplanned exposure.

Born on 1883, Charles Jourdan was a French fashion artists who was generally known for his design of ladies' shoes that started in 1919. Jourdan was prepared a shoemaker, and launched his own shop in Romans, part of the Drome section of France, after WWI. His business enriched, and in just two years he moved his company to Boulevard Voltaire and had his own factory of 30 people. He was the first ever shoe artists to advertise in fashion magazines, thus making the name Charles Jourdan an exclusive custom-built house for shoes.

In 1947, Jourdan was joined by his three heirs; and in 1950, they started selling their shoes outside France. They also got approval to design and yield designer shoes under the brand Christian Dior, and after a few years under Pierre Cardin. Their designs were known for opulence and mod. Charles died in 1976 but his sons endured their enterprise. The house had its own ups and downs and even filed for impoverishment in 2002. Josephus Thimister is now the lead artists of Charles Jourdan.

Gratifying an Universal Film Festival at the Cannes Riviera Hotel

Lovers of international films usually troop at France at selective times of the year to get to see the motion pictures taking part in the annual Cannes Film Festival. The event marks some of the best movies worldwide and much activity manifests before, during, and even after the festival rites.

Getting to see the Cannes Film Festival will necessarily necessitate a lot of planning as a lot of foreign tourists, including dignitaries from many countries, will naturally want to grace the said event. Planning will have to absolutely include a good French hotel to stay in, preferably one that is settled in the center of Cannes. Thankfully, there are a great number of lodgings situated right in Cannes from where film festival participators and onlookers can quietly check in and thereafter get to enjoy the festivities.

One such hotel is the Cannes Riviera Hotel, a 64-room hotel located in the region of Provence and very adjacent the port. The rooms here are equipped with recent hotel accommodations including air-conditioning and heating systems, safety deposit boxes, telephones, shower places, and hairdryers.

Numerous other Cannes-based lodgings are found all across the area, but what makes the Cannes Riviera Hotel stand out from the competition is the fact that the nearest French airport, Nice Airport, is only about 19 kilometers away. If one is coming off the airport after a long vacation, the Cannes Riviera is definitely the most commodious place to stay in if one wishes to totally enjoy the Cannes Film Festival.
